Our Story
VocalVenue was born from a journey of reflection, change, and purpose.
Its founder,Jermaine aka Blaze, first created a grassroots music platform called Lifermusic after turning his life around following a difficult past. Having once been involved in organised crime that led to incarceration,Jermaine used that experience to reflect deeply on the direction of his life and the impact he wanted to make.
During that time, he realised how many young people were being drawn into crime for lack of opportunity or guidance — especially those with musical talent but no outlet. Determined to make a difference, he built Lifermusic as a free platform to help young artists express themselves through music rather than crime. The name itself carries meaning: “Lifer” represents the journey from being chained to the system to breaking free — symbolised by our logo, a pair of handcuffs with the chain broken in half.
Lifermusic quickly became a home for UK drill and rap artists, offering free music videos and promotion as a way to encourage creativity, positive expression, and new beginnings.
From there, Jermaine launched VocalVenue to expand beyond rap and drill — creating an inclusive space for all genres of music, from R&B and soul to acoustic, pop, and beyond.
Through both platforms, Jermaine continues to give back to the community by personally funding studio sessions, hiring professional film crews, and covering production costs, allowing artists to access quality opportunities completely free of charge.
VocalVenue stands today as a community-driven platform with a mission to inspire change, prove that second chances are real, and show that music can transform lives.
Blaze is the founder of VocalVenue, a London-based music platform that empowers singers and grassroots talent by eliminating financial barriers. Originating from his Instagram project @Lifermusic2021, Blaze expanded his vision to include various performers. The family-run team, including his sister Destinee, partner Mel, and friend General creates a supportive space for talent to shine. Blaze's experience includes collaborations with LoungesTV and key figures in the UK music industry.

Performances at VocalVenue are typically lip-synced to your track. Get ready to bring your music to life in a unique and engaging way.
Booking And Replies
We reply to all submissions every Sunday evening. Sessions are held every 2–3 months, and we’ll send you the next available booking.
Location
Session Day Details
Sessions run from 12 PM to 5 PM. We recommend bringing a friend for company and support. You’ll perform in front of a small crowd of artists.
Afterwards, you’ll sit down for a short interview.
Most of our sessions are based in Tottenham, London, though we also use various other creative spaces across the city.
💡 Note: We are a self-funded platform, so every bit of support from the community helps us continue creating opportunities for grassroots talent.
